What to expect?

TLC is gearing up for the new season of Jon and Kate. But what should we be expecting from the now-single parents? What new dynamics will the show take? The Los Angeles Times has this article giving us a few tidbits about the upcoming season:

“Jon & Kate Plus 8″ returns from hiatus Monday night, and TLC wants you to know that the network has taken “great care and thoughtfulness” as they shoot the couple in the middle of a highly publicized divorce.

“It’s a subject many many Americans are familiar with,” said President and General Manager of TLC, Eileen O’Neill. “And we’re dealing with it in a respectful and sensitive way.”

Many of the episodes remain “works in progress,” she continued.

As for the big changes you can expect?

The “iconic couch” has been replaced by separate interview chairs for Jon and Kate. And instead of the couple rearing children together, viewers will see what it’s like for a single parent to watch eight on his or her own. Kate will attempt for the first time to put up a tent for the kids in her backyard, while Jon will struggle in the kitchen trying to make pizza for the family. (source)

  1. I am so sorry to see these two people get a divorce…its too bad. I feel bad for all of them concerned.

The kids are going to struggle with the fact Mom and Dad are living in seperate houses…she is going to find out…that life is not a bed of roses..its hard to raise children alone…let alone 8 of them…and most of them are the same age. She is going to have to learn how to fix things…and he how to cook and juggle all the children…

From what I have read…they were both wrong…playing around on the other spouce..Sure sometimes life gets boring…and we want to add spice..but then find creative ways to do that with your spouce…not takeing someone else to your bed…The kids are the ones in the long run that suffer..they are the innocent ones in all this..

I can’t be bothered watching the new revamped Jon and Kate show, but I will miss seeing the children. It is disgusting that this show is still on, this is reality TV at it’s worse, and millions have nothing better to do than watch this family self destruct. When we see their new love interests on the show, then I will know TLC doesn’t care about anything but making money.
One-day the show will be over, no more freebies, no more money rolling in, and no one will care what these two self absorbed parents do. They once had their children’s interest at heart, but the fame and money got to them. Of course, they love their children, but it is all so shallow.

I”m sorry about your divorce. Having been through it myself the only thing I can say that might help is always be kind to each other for the sake of the children, My ex and I are better friends that we were married partnerss.

I feel very sad about Jon’s behavior with his young little cuties. He really is’nt thinking about how his kids must feel.
