Reality Stars Critical Of Jon & Kate

You knows it’s bad when you have reality TV stars looking down their noses at you, and criticizing what you put on TV.  In the realm of reputational rock-bottom, that’s only one step up from bumming a buck from a homeless guy. Sad. So break out your flashlights and picks, Jon and Kate, cause you’re not too far from needing them. It gets dark at rock-bottom.

Here we have a few quotes from some of J&K’s reality peers. Talk about not making any friends in the industry. First we have Adrianne Curry, star of Next Top Model and My Fair Brady:

Jon and Kate handled the entire thing wrong, their kids are going to grow up to resent and hate them. They should hang up their towel and get a real f***ing job to support their children instead of ruining their lives. If I ever do get pregnant, I don’t know that I would ever share it, and if I did, all the money made wouldn’t be going into Ed Hardy shirts but into a college savings account. But to each their own, if they feel like mistreating their kids then that’s their decision. I like Kate more than I like Jon right now, but I would like her more if she got a real job and took them off TV while they are going through the pain of the divorce.”

Dang. Girl dropped the F-bomb on Jon and Kate.  And apparently it isn’t just us bloggers bothered by the covey of Ed Hardy shirts that Jon has been parading around. I’m glad to know that My Fair Brady will  be exhibiting good taste.

But the gaggle of critical stars slamming the octoparents questionable child rearing skills doesn’t end there, oh no. Next up we have former playmate and star of Seducing Cindy (airing in January 2010), Cindy Margolis. Really. You know you’re a sleazy d-bag when the star of a reality dating show and a former playmate has higher moral ground than you.

She stated that what the Gosselins are doing with their family is “way too much” and went on to describe her policy about her children and show business.

“My twin girls are four and I did not allow them on the show with me around the men. My son Nicholas is seven and he did come with me only once. I explained to him that the guys (the 25 male contestants vying for her affection) are just part of the crew. It’s really hard bringing children into a situation like that, and I would never do it.”

Gretchen Rossi, star of  Real Housewives of O.C., also disagreed with the Gosselins conduct. She felt that if a person put themselves in the spotlight, that’s all fine and good. But if children are dragged along for the ride (or in the Gosselins’ case, as the cash cow), then that is most certainly not kosher.

So, will there be any chance that Jon and Kate will be influenced by their peers’ jeers? Already Jon is calling for a production shut-down (coincidentally only a week after the name was changed). Will the criticism provide the last push TLC needs to reconsider, or will it only help to boost ratings and thus encourage the network?
