Has Jon Violated His “Morals Clause”?

So it looks like all of Jon’s partying days might be coming to an end. The rumor mill is grinding and the news du jour is that Jon has managed to violate a “morals clause” that he signed with TLC. According to TMZ, somewhere in his contract it is stated that he shouldn’t be out partying with the girls until all hours of the night. What? TLC doesn’t like the skanky image Jon is bringing?

Personally I find it strange and hypocritical that TLC can force morals onto its reality stars, while at the same time selling 8 innocent children downriver for a buck. Hmmm…something doesn’t quite add up. I guess that particular issue doesn’t fall under the television company’s concepts of “moral”.

In other Gosselin vs TLC news, Jon has managed hit another peeve of TLC’s. The network execs didn’t like him pimping out his Ed Hardys on their show and, in what has got to be a classic TV move, have started blurring out Jon’s new duds. Now the show looks more like an episode of COPS.

Though after Jon trying to convince us that he “always liked fast things” and that he has 4 tattoos, I bet he likes that image.

Well, Which Is It?

Rumors are flying back and forth on whether or not Jon will be working on a new clothing line with designer Christian Audigier. One source says “yes”, the next says “no”. This article posted on BuddyTV.com says, “yes”. It addresses the rumors that there will be no clothing line, but says that in an interview with E! Online, Audigier mentioned that the children’s line has the go ahead.

However, a recent interview that E! Online had with Christian Audigier seems to point to the other direction. “It should be [happening],” the French designer admitted.

Knowing the Gosselin’s penchant for “selling out”, I’m sure that this clothing line will happen. There is just too much money to be made in a opportunity like this. And I’m sure, as per a previous article posted, that Jon will have no scruples using his children as convenient models to help drive sales for the new clothes.

Cashing In

First it was all Kate who was cashing in on the bumper crop that is her family. But now Jon has joined right on in. While he was on the French Riviera cuddling up with Hailey Glassman, he was also getting busy cutting a new deal with clothing designer Christian Audigier, creator of the infamous Ed Hardy line. Both Gosselin and Audigier will be working on a new line of children’s clothing. And I’ll give you one guess as to who will be helping promote the clothes. Oh, who am I kidding? It doesn’t even take a guess to know that Jon will be using his kids as models.

UPDATE: It seems we were all too presumptuous in assuming that Jon was in France to seal the deal with designer Audigier. This article claims that they will not, in fact, be working together on a new children’s clothing line.

Putting Kate on Hold

At this point, pretty much anything regarding or associated with Jon & Kate is backfiring. Another project to bite the dust is Kate’s clothing line for children. Currently the line is “on hold”, but personally I say hang up the phone. This would just be one more way for Kate to cash in on her kids and her sticky TV show situation. And who thought she was qualified to design clothes anyways?
